Cork Tile
A range of cork tiles available in differing thicknesses and colours, although the natural coloration is by far the most popular. Extremely lightweight and sustainably harvested from a renewable source, cork is a great material for interior wall surfacing. Some of the cork produced is impregnated with a resinous binder to improve the durability of the material and this has an interesting impact on the overall aesthetic.

Flax Insulation
A natural insulation material made from 100% flax fibres. Matted together into a non-woven matting, which can then be laid down in lofts or inserted into wall cavities.

Straw Insulation Panels
A lightweight, biodegradable insulating panel made from compressed straw with a recycled cardboard skin. The panels can also double up as partition walls due to their robust nature, and therefore are a must see for anyone considering low-impact dwellings.

Acousticel®
An acoustic insulation material made from 100% recycled rubber. The rubber comes from
old car tyres and is broken down into small strips to make this non-woven sheet material.

Claytec®
A building block made from a mix of unfired clay, a woven Jute textile and bamboo. The lattice of jute and bamboo give the clay panel good structural integrity whilst reducing the weight. This material is generally used in low-impact housing applications, for internal partitioning. The material has great acoustic and thermal insulation properties. However the concept of sun-baked clay building materials has been around for millennia and could surely transcend the small-scale shelter.

Fermacell®
A multipurpose tough fibreboard made from gypsum. It is reinforced and
resilient to moisture which makes it highly durable. The material has great acoustic and thermal insulation properties whilst being fireproof .

Rastra®
This material is essentially a customisable breeze-block or lightweight concrete. It achieves this lightness by the cement compound being foamed along with a dosage of small foam chips which are added during the moulding stage. These weight saving measures also help to reduce the amount of material that is actually being consumed allowing the designer to achieve more with less.

Warmcel®
An insulating material made from 100% recycled newspaper. The insulation is 'sprayed' into cavity walls on-site. Warmcel® increases the energy efficiency of buildings without the further consumption of natural resources.
