A winning CV will have the following attributes in terms of content and presentation:
- A neat and tidy appearance, word processed
- Clearly laid out with appropriate headings, easy to pick out facts
- Concise - no more that 2 sides of A4
- Free of spelling, grammar and syntax errors
- Choice of a format appropriate to your chosen job or occupation/type of employer
- Choice of a format appropriate to your personal circumstances
- Clear relevance of information to specific requirements in the post
or occupational area
- Focus on positive and relevant points
- Appropriately selected examples to provide evidence of possessing the skills, interests and personal attributes the job requires
- Good and concise use of positive, active language
- Avoidance of cliches - appearance of being truthful and authentic.
Interviews will be discussed in Tutorial 3, where you can participate in defining
criteria for evaluating them. |
