Finding the Fit
The job study should analyse all of the main areas below. Click on each area for prompt points, intended to alert you to features which may be important for you to address, if they are relevant to your job study.

 
The analysis of the occupation

  • What actual tasks does the work involve?
  • How much routine and variety is there?
  • What is a typical day like?
  • What opportunities are there to specialise, take responsibility, develop procedures, use equipment, etc.?
  • What are the most and least enjoyable aspects of the job?
  • A lot of this information will be contained in Job Descriptions which are often a part of recruitment literature and in careers reference books / web sites.
  • Do these activities and ways of working use your strongest abilities and interests?
