FT-IR with diamond ATR-IR

gcms

Introduction

The ATR-IR is a fast and easy method of determining the chemical bonding components of a polymer, as the sample is analysed ‘neat’. The sample is in direct contact with the crystal that allows the infrared radiation to be penetrated through the sample many times. This is due to the crystal having a high Refractive Index causing the infrared radiation to be bounced back many times.

Applications

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis with no required sample preparation

Instrumentation

  • Perkin Elmer SpectrumOne FT-IR spectrometer with ATR attachment using Spectrum Version 5.0.1 control and processing software.
