Finding your Profile
Bear in mind the following sorts of factors:
  • When was the material produced and how often is it updated?
  • Who produced it, for whom and for what purpose?
  • Is it formal and expert, or informal and amateur?
  • Does it give only the positive aspects of the job and/or employer, or a balanced picture?
  • Was it written for marketing or recruitment purposes - or to inform and guide?
  • Is it news, comment, or analysis?
  • Does it meet your needs? For example, is it targeted specifically at graduates or for more general consumption?
  • Does it have age-related information if you are a mature student, or special sections on disability/equal opportunities?
  • What is the scope? Is it local, national or international in coverage?
  • Does the information give sufficient detail?
