  • to find out what you have learned from your reading, research and experience
  • to give you experience of report-writing - an important skill that is widely used in the workplace
Guidelines for writing the report

A report is different from an academic essay in its structure, language and presentation. The style of writing in a report is usually less discursive than in an essay, with a more direct and economic use of language. The format entails using sections and sub-headings so that the information is easy to follow. Information should be analysed and your ideas argued with supporting evidence.
